How do I become a MOD?
The MOD title will be given to those who follow the rules and have given full support into Eternal Fantasy. The MOD title isn't given to random people who think they would be great help towards the Eternal Fantasy community. Being a mod doesn't mean staying logged on the forum all day, just sitting there enjoying yourself in-game, It requires effort, time and experience. To be honest, asking and pleading to become one will get you no where, it would just reduce your chances and eventually you will lose our trust. Here are a fer requirements in what we expect in a MOD.
What are the ranks?
Administrators.
The administrators manage the technical details required for running the the forum and game. Administrators promote and demote members, manage the rules, create important categories and boards, as well as perform any database back ups. Administrators often also act as moderators and may also make forum-wide announcements, or change the appearance of the forum. They also have a variety of powers, such as; deleting, moving, and removing threads, locking, renaming, sticking threads, banning, suspending, unsuspending, unbanning, warning the members, or adding, editing, removing the polls of threads.
Global Moderators.
The global moderators are users of the forum who are granted access to the posts and threads of all members and also keeping the forum clean. Moderators also answer users concerns about the forum, general questions, as well as respond to specific complaints. Common privileges of moderators include: deleting, moving, and removing threads, locking, renaming, sticking threads, banning, suspending, unsuspending, unbanning, warning the members, or adding, editing, removing the polls of threads. 'Mod wanna be's' can refer negatively to the behavior of ordinary users who take a moderator-like tone in criticizing other members in a negative way.
Moderators.
Moderators help out by fixing all the little things such as; deleting, moving, and removing threads, locking, banning, unbanning, warning the members, or adding, editing, removing the polls of threads. They don't exactly have as much power over the site as the Admins and Global Mod's do, but this is a great advantage since Eternal Fantasy will have more people to observe.
Why are staff given unique colors?
Staff are given unique colors to their name so others may Identify who to contact if needed. The different selection of colors are also so members can Identify the ranks given. Only moderators and admins will be granted the added colors to their names.
Can MOD's get fired?
Indeed they can. But this is only necessary if they've broken a serious rule. If the owner chooses to demote a staff member then they're free to do it for whatever reason they see fit, regardless of whether others agree with them or not. The real issue in demoting staff however comes from whether others will see it as justified or an abuse of power on the admin's part. Staff could also be demoted because they have :
- Excessively breaking any of the rules that regular members are upheld to.
- Abusing power.
- Not logging in or posting for 2 weeks without notice.
- Being involved in illegal activities.
- Not heeding a warning/blatantly disobeying (especially in public).
A mod won't respond to me?
Like you and me, we both have their own social lives. Guys, we're not robots, we cant function 24/7, we need our sleep and lives too. They are also very busy people who are on the look out for inadequate behavior and rule breakers both in-game and forum. Moderators also have reports to deal with so they may not have enough time to deal with pointless PM's. Again with the pointless PM's, if a Moderator doesn't reply, it might be because you have sent them a 'Pointless PM' and by 'Pointless PM' we mean PM's that aren't important.
